Core features & capabilities

Ledger Live App® combines a modern interface with robust security provided by Ledger hardware. Key capabilities include:

  • Hardware-backed security: Private keys are generated and stored on Ledger devices (Ledger Nano S Plus, Ledger Nano X) — Ledger Live only acts as an interface.
  • Multi-asset support: Manage thousands of coins and tokens across Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, and many other chains.
  • Buy, sell & swap: Integrated third-party partners allow on‑ramp and swap services inside the app.
  • Staking & earn: Stake supported assets directly through Ledger Live App® to earn rewards while keys remain secure.
  • Portfolio & analytics: Track holdings, set alerts, and export transaction history for accounting or tax purposes.
  • App Manager: Install blockchain-specific apps to your Ledger device using the Manager tab in Ledger Live App®.

Security best practices

Ledger Live App® relies on the security of your Ledger device and the secrecy of your recovery phrase. Follow these best practices:

  • Only download Ledger Live App® from ledger.com.
  • Never enter your 24‑word recovery phrase into any app, website, or form — keep it offline and secure.
  • Set a strong device PIN and enable required firmware updates from the Manager tab.
  • Beware of phishing: verify URLs, avoid unsolicited links, and cross-check messages with Ledger Support.
